We often joke around here, "Horses are what make us a ranch." And yeah, that is technically true, according to the dictionary:

And while we are indeed a ranch, we are far more concerned with the NEW LIFE part of our name. Our mission is to "Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and equip believers for ministry." Everything we do, including having horses as part of a ranch, is in order to fulfill that mission. So you may be asking yourself, how exactly do horses help you fulfill the mission? We're so glad you asked!
A Tool to Help us Learn about God
God gave us an incredible tool in horses to help us learn more about Him!
- Trust Over Instinct: A horse must override its natural flight instinct to follow a rider past scary objects. Similarly, we are called to trust God’s judgment above our own fears.
- The Round Pen: An enclosed pen stops a horse from running away, forcing it to turn inward and look at the trainer. God often uses limited options to stop our striving and re-center our focus on Him.
- Staying on the Path: A distracted horse constantly fights to drift off the trail. Like them, we must resist the world's distractions to keep our eyes locked on the straight and narrow path.
These are just a few of the many lessons that campers and guests get to learn while experiencing our horsemanship programs. It's also why we are raising funds this #GivingTuesday to support this critical program. We want to be able to continue to offer this invaluable tool to all campers and guests who come to camp!
A New Member of our Herd!
For #GivingTuesday this year, we’re rallying our New Life Ranch friends and partners to support the horsemanship program and welcome our herd's tiniest member: our Jerusalem donkey! 🫏+
How it Works
- Every $5 donated on #GivingTuesday = 1 entry to name her.
- More entries = more chances to win.
- More generosity = more campers encountering Christ in the barn.
Our Goal
Our goal for this #givingtuesday is $20,000 to support the horsemanship program. Help us ensure every camper can experience the healing, confidence-building power of horses. Let's pray, give, and celebrate what God is doing in the barn!
