The Founders Endowment provides long-term funding for scholarships, ensuring camp remains accessible for families in need for generations.
Invest in Our Future
The impact of our scholarship program is apparent every year. There are over 1,000 families that are impacted by eliminating the financial barrier that exists for their kids to come to camp and experience the joy of camp and the love of Christ. As we grow that annual need also continues to increase.
We had long considered creating a Scholarship Endowment Fund to assist us in meeting this need year after year in perpetuity. Consider this, a $2 million Endowment would contribute $100,000 a year to fund scholarships in perpetuity. This would assist us in meeting our scholarship goal annually, now and for years to come. In 2023, due to gifts awarded to New Life Ranch, we were afforded the opportunity to create the Founders Endowment for Scholarships. Through the first phase of the Generatons Campagin, we have had gifts and pledges that have allowed us to reach $1,214,838 for the Founders Endowment, thus far. A gift of any size can be contributed to this Endowment. Anyone who pledges or gives a gift of $10,000 can create a named or memorial endowment to support the main fund.

LTJG Aaron P. Fowler (1992-2022) left an immense legacy of faithfulness and friendship when he lost his life in a military training accident. Aaron was a camper at New Life Ranch, completed the Leadership Development Program, and was a camp counselor in 2011. It was evident to anyone who met him that his purpose was to make God’s name known, and the hope of this fund is to continue that legacy in honor of Aaron.
Donor: Bill & Susan Kenworthy
Bill had a true servant's heart. He faithfully served campers, visitors and staff and mentored many young people in the kitchen. He sometimes looked grumpy, but always had a heart of gold.
Donor: John I. Blair IV & Elaine Thiessen Blair
My husband and I met in 1970 and spent one of our first dates at NLR when my church youth group had their spring retreat. I had no idea at that time that John had a history with the Heck family & NLR dating back to 1955. He attended camps organized by Rev. Heck when it was Kellum's Ranch, attended NLR as a camper until 1962, and later served as a counselor. Over the years we have often sponsored children of family & friends to attend camp at the ranch. We know the importance of planting the seeds of the gospel in young lives and the lasting effect it can have on their families. Our desire is to continue to help provide scholarships for future generations of children to have those same experiences. Our hope is to honor our own family roots through this fund.
New Life Ranch and leadership development meant the world to Claire. She was so excited to spend June of 2025 with her amazing friends at New Life training to be a counselor. This program has brought her so much joy and love for life and Jesus. Claire would love nothing more than to help others have the same experience for years to come.

I want kids to be kids, enjoy nature, community, have fun, explore, but learn about Jesus and his free gift of salvation and the Holy Spirit.
Donor: Lura Joseph
The fund is in memory of my parents, Don and Ruth Joseph, as well as others in my family. My parents sent me to NLR camps from grade school through high school and contributed in various ways. I know they would be pleased with this memorial.
