What is RSS?
"RSS" stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a standard for publishing regular updates to web-based content. Using RSS New Life Ranch (and other web publishers, such as CNN.com or FoxNews.com) provides updates, such as News or Upcoming Events to RSS subscribers. Subscribers (who can be anybody with an internet connection) use RSS reader applications to collect and monitor their favorite feeds in one place (RSS content is often called a “feed”).
The bottom line for you is that you get New Life Ranch information delivered directly to your desktop.
How do I read RSS feeds?
To read feeds from NLR or any other source you need a feed reader. There are two primary categories of readers: installable desktop programs and online services. There are many options for desktop readers, many are free and some cost a small fee. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 both have built in feed readers. Clicking on an RSS feed in one of these programs will give you instructions on how to use those programs as feed readers. A search for “RSS Reader” at a popular search site will give you many other results, but here are a few to get you started (NLR does not specifically endorse or support any reader, for questions about specific products please contact the products manufacturer):

The second option for reading feeds is to use an online service. With online services you get the advantage of being able to access your feeds from any internet connected computer with a web browser. The disadvantage comes in different, some would say fewer, features and slightly slower performance versus desktop systems. Here are a few online options to get you started:
