Horse Camps

Horse Camps are a great weekend of fun at NLR! During the weekend you will spend time improving your riding skills, hanging out with friends, going on trail rides, and being renewed in your relationship with God.

Events for Beginners

Riding Level Beginner
Prerequisite Required None
Camp Focus Horse Sense, Grooming, Saddling, Beginning riding and trail, and see how wonderful God made the horse and you!
Schedule
  • 9:00am- Check-in, Barn Safety, Horse Sense, Leading
  • 10:15am- Grooming and Saddling
  • 11:00am- Riding Session 1
  • 12:00pm- Lunch
  • 12:45pm- Horses, God, and Me
  • 1:30pm- Riding Session 2
  • 2:30pm- Canteen
  • 3:00pm- Trail Ride
  • 4:30pm- Unsaddle, Groom, Chores, Feed Horses
  • 5:30pm- Head Home

Dates March 17-19, 2017
Cost $150
Ages 7th-12th Grade (Girls Only)
Riding Level Walk and trot with control
Prerequisite Required Attended at least one Horsin' Around event or the equivilent (to be approved by NLR Horsemanship Coordinator)
Camp Focus Looking to God to take your love for horses one step further by developing leadership skills that will improve your riding and carry over into your daily life, basic ground work, riding patters, trail obstacles, cantering

The Mane Event
The Mane Event
Dates October 6-8, 2017
Cost $150
Ages 7-12th Grade (Girls Only)
Riding Level Walk and trot with control, and have a beginning canter
Prerequisite Required Attended a Hooves & Heart event or the equivalent. Skilled riders who have not attended an NLR event previously but who would like to be considered for an invitation, contact Angie Davis (angie@newliferanch.com), the Horsemanship Coordinator.
Camp Focus Strengthening leadership skills, ground work, riding patterns at the trot and canter, building communication with your horse, advanced trail, cantering
