Guidelines
NLR GUEST SERVICES OBJECTIVE
The purpose of NLR Guest Services is to make New Life Ranch a comfortable and easy place for ministry to happen. We accomplish this by:
- Providing a personable, flexible, servant-hearted staff
- Maintaining clean, well kept, functional facilities
- Providing great food in a pleasant atmosphere
- Offering program consultation and assistance when needed
- Maintaining God’s creation and keeping it a “Valley Set Apart” for refuge from the outside world.
WHAT IS NEW LIFE RANCH?
NLR is a Christian Summer Camp and Retreat Center located in NE Oklahoma, 4 miles west of Siloam Springs, AR. It is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt non-profit organization. NLR is an independent corporation and is unattached to any other church, denomination or outside organization. We are dedicated to bringing glory to God through great facilities and a Christ-exemplifying program.
REPORTING YOUR EXPECTED REGISTRATIONS
NLR representatives will contact you periodically and one week before your retreat. These contacts are excellent times to communicate about your registration process. It will be important for your facility and food needs that expected numbers be communicated realistically. 3 days are important:
- 3 MONTHS BEFORE the RETREAT. You are responsible for paying for your reservation number and for guests that exceed your reservation number. You have up to 3 months before the retreat to make changes in the reservation number, length of retreat, etc. If your number dips below the reservation number on your contract, you will be charged for those who attended and 80% for those who didn’t, up to your reservation number.
- 1 WEEK BEFORE THE RETREAT. NLR needs four things:
- The final people count needs to be reported to allow for the appropriate amounts of food to be ordered and for NLR’s pre-retreat preparation.
- We also would like to have a schedule of your retreat by this time. This will allow for optimal service from our staff.
- If you are needing any facilities other than those you are contracted for, check with us to make sure they are available. (ie. Motel Units).
- Lastly, our staff would like to have any prayer needs your ministry has for the upcoming retreat. A list of the needs is given to each of our staff members so they can be in prayer for your group before they arrive.
- THE DAY OF DEPARTURE FROM NLR. Payment for the retreat is required before the group leaves NLR (checks only please).
Examples of above: your church reserves 50, reports they are bringing 30 one week prior to retreat and brings 30. They’re responsible to pay for the 30 guests that came + 80% of the 20 who didn’t (you are obligated to the contract reservation number). The way to prevent this from happening is to be realistic on your original reservation number.
Information for Partnering Ministries
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT OF NLR New Life Ranch is concerned about the eternal welfare of those who are on the grounds, and their commitment to Jesus Christ. Therefore, upon signing of the contract you agree to conduct a program that integrates the Bible, and should be in harmony with the following beliefs.- A belief in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired word of God and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
- A belief in the God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- A belief that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from fellowship with God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach the age of responsibility, become sinners in thought, word, or deed.
- A belief that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him and accept Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.
- A belief in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord and His ascension into Heaven, and that He is there at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate.
- A belief in the blessed hope: the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that He will set up His Kingdom on Earth.
- A belief that all those who accept the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God.
- A belief in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
Our Doctrinal Statement indicates that NLR holds to the historic doctrines of the Christian Faith. Our policy is to partner with those of like-faith. We realize that there are honest differences of opinion among godly believers on issues such as speaking in tongues, divine healing, divine sovereignty and human responsibility, the security of the believer, political and economical theories, etc.
In order to encourage Christian fellowship and unity, and as a matter of Christian courtesy to others on the grounds, we ask that you do not seek to convince anyone outside your own group of your particular views.
FIRST AID SUPPLIES AND MEDICAL ATTENTION are the responsibility of the partnering ministry. We recommend that you have at least We recommend that you have at least one adult leader who has up to date certification for CPR and First Aid. It is also our recommendation that you keep a list of all names and addresses of your group with emergency contact names and phone numbers. It would also be wise to indicate on your list any type of special health conditions people might have. Please be prepared to communicate your first aid responsibility and be prepared to handle these situations within your group. Transportation for medical care is also the responsibility ofthe guest group. Intercom phones and on duty NLR staff can be utilized to arrange emergency medial care and assistance. PLEASE BE READY. MUSIC is a large part of the program for many groups visiting NLR. If your group will be using live music as part of your program, whether it be used for entertainment or worship purposes, please keep group behavior within boundaries that are glorifying to God. You are encouraged to have an open dialogue with the NLR representative hosting your group about these issues. We want you to have freedom in your program choices but would also like you to be aware of NLR’s guidelines in this area.
GUESTS must be informed of their duty to respect our property, staff, and policies. They are to conduct themselves so as to further the happiness and well-being of their fellow guests, and without damage to Ranch property. This is much easier to accomplish if a group has a controllable camper to staff ratio. We recommend that with any age group a 1 to 5 ratio would be the ideal. If that is not possible, a 1 to 6 for 6-8 year olds, a 1 to 8 for 9-14 year olds, and a 1 to 10 for 15-18 year olds would be our recommendation.
Under no circumstances are illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or pets allowed on New Life Ranch property during a group’s retreat. Please inform your group of this.
GUESTS CAN BE CONTACTED at any time using the following options:
- For non-emergencies they may call (918) 422–4396 extension 189 or 199. These are public phones and may not be answered immediately. These phones are available for our guests to use at any time but require a calling card for dialing long distance (local calls are free). Most cellular phones rarely receive signals on our grounds.
- In emergency or urgent situations, they may call (918) 422-5506 and use extension 103 to reach a NLR staff member.
