The Timothy Team begins the transition from being ministered to, to being the one ministering. After a week of training including the roles of a counselor, studies of Christian apologetics, study of Timothy & Paul's relationship as a prime example of discipleship, Bible memorization, testimony preparation and delivery, servant leadership's role in small groups and in life, and challenging group activities (including a two-night backpacking trip), Timothy Team participants will work as a team to shepherd and care for NLR's day campers (1st-6th grade campers who come to camp from breakfast to dinner for 5 days during the second week of the Timothy Team session). Through these avenues & the ones developed in the Nehemiah program, the Timothy Team develops lasting relationships with each other and, more importantly, with Christ.

This ministry is offered to campers going into at least 11th grade and is designed for students who have successfully completed the Nehemiah program and have shown they have what it takes to move to the next level. There is a deep level of commitment required of Timothy Team members and they will be asked to step out of their comfort zones and begin to lead others. This is not a responsibility we take lightly and participants need to show a commitment to these challenges. There will be plenty of fun but it should be understood that our focus is on leadership development and challenging students to grow deeper in Christ.
